CUSTOMER CARE GUIDE GTECHNIQ PAINT SEALANT

Your car has now been prepared to the Gtechniq standard by an authorised service professional.

But did you know, with just a little care and effort it’s easy to keep it this way indefinitely?

The coatings applied to your car mean that as well as looking great you also get incredibly low maintenance Smart Surfaces. These require less cleaning, and much less effort to clean.

Ongoing care is simple, easy and rewarding.

This handy guide will help you realise your expectations of the Gtechniq system.

Caring for your car and maintaining your Gtechniq coating:

Washing

Products needed: Gtechniq G-Wash shampoo, warm water, 1 microfibre wash mitt, 1 sponge or 2nd wash mitt (for wheels) & a Gtechniq drying towel, either MF2 or MF4.

Avoid washing your car in direct sunlight & always rinse your car thoroughly first.

For best results use the three bucket system, one for wash, one for rinse & one for wheels.

Always begin washing on the upper surfaces (roof, bonnet, boot) and work your way down, rinsing your wash mitt in clean water as you go to release dirt & grit.

Wash the lower sections of the bodywork next with your wash mitt, leaving the wheels until last (using your separate sponge or 2nd wash mitt) as brake dust is highly abrasive.

We recommend using Gtechniq G-Wash shampoo for cleaning your car.

Never apply detergents directly to bodywork or your microfibre wash mitt / sponge.

Never use a real leather chamois for drying, these are too harsh for modern paints and will easily scratch and marr the surface. Microfiber drying cloths are much softer, far more absorbent, and therefore require much less effort.

Don’t scrub or use any force when drying. Simply lay the drying cloth across the surface and pull it towards you.

Problems

Bird droppings & other corrosive deposits

Always wash off bird droppings, bat droppings, bug impacts and tree sap as soon as possible, as these can be highly corrosive. Use plenty of clean water to loosen and soften deposits. Always avoid scrubbing or scratching.

Swirl marks

The familiar spider web style patterns of micro-scratches that appear over time on a car’s paintwork are almost entirely caused by the scrub action of washing. The harder you scrub, the more often you do it, the more swirl marks you generate.

The 3S coatings on your car eliminate the need for harsh scrubbing. But if you find that you’re losing the battle, they can easily be removed. Speak to your Gtechniq detailing professional to find the most appropriate product. Gtechniq W2 is a great product to remove any tough spots.

Ongoing care

Hydrophobic (water repelling) surfaces can wear down over time due to the environment. The protective layer will still be there but the beading may be reduced. To extend or re-activate the beading nature of your Gtechniq paint sealant, simply spray Gtechniq C2 onto the paint surface and wipe off the residue with a microfibre cloth. C2 will extend the hydrophobic nature of you C1 Liquid Crystal. We recommend you use the C2 every two months to maintain optimum sealant efficiency.

We recommend an annual professional detail to fix surface wear and tear in the coatings applied to your car, maintaining maximum visual impact and long-term protection.

A maintenance service consists of a professional hand wash and correction of surface damage built up within the coating layer. Your car will be returned looking as good as the first time. The Gtechniq coating’s service life can be extended indefinitely in this way, resulting in cars that look as good as new, indefinitely. Costs of detailing vary between professional Gtechniq licensees.

CUSTOMER CARE GUIDE GTECHNIQ LEATHER/VINYL/FABRIC SEALANTS

  • We recommend Gtechniq W2 Universal Cleaner for stubborn stains.
  • Never Rub – Always blot.
  • Spillages and spots must be dealt with immediately, blot up liquids using tissues, paper towels or absorbent material.
  • If stain has dried, use Gtechniq W2 Universal Cleaner as per directions.
  • Regular cleaning of the Leather & Vinyl is essential to assist in keeping it stain free.
  • Gtechniq W2 Universal Cleaner is available from the Dealer you purchased the product from.

How to clean your interior surface

Routine cleaning should include a quick vacuuming with a soft brush head. This should be the first step to interior cleaning unless one has a reason to bypass it.

The second step involves a clean towel and a bowl of lukewarm distilled water mixed with an appropriate cleaner. We recommend Gtechniq W2 Universal Cleaner as a safe cleaner, One will also need a separate bucket of water without soap and a third bucket.

The process works like this: dip the towel into the Gtechniq W2 soapy water, wring it out until it is moist but not dripping wet, and then clean the surface. Dip the dirty rag into the water and wring it out into the empty bucket. Repeat the dip and wring process as many times as necessary to ensure that the towel is clean. It may be necessary to refill the water-only bucket more than once to ensure that the towel can be kept clean. Once the towel is clean, commence the procedure again with the next area.

For Leather, Vinyl and Fabric we recommend a 10:1 solution of water and W2 Universal Concentrate Cleaner. For Carpet we recommend 7:1 solution of water to W2 Universal Concentrate Cleaner.

TERMS & CONDITIONS


Daves Auto Detail & Ceramic Coatings LLC provides a warranty to the customer in respect of the Gtechniq product applied to the vehicle on the Terms & Conditions set out below.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR ALL GTECHNIQ PRODUCTS

Vehicle must be continuously registered within the US.

  1. Any treatment / re-treatment of Gtechniq Products must be applied / reapplied by an authorized licenced Gtechniq applicator. If any treatment, cleaning, repair or other work is carried out on the vehicle without Dave’s Auto Detail or a Licensed Gtechniq Agents prior written authorization , the warranty will be invalid.
  2. Gtechniq Agents must be notified of failure of product performance within 30 days of occurrence. Failure to notify Gtechniq Agents within 30 days will relieve Daves Auto Detail and Gtechniq Agents of all responsibilities under this warranty.
  3. The customer shall have the vehicle inspected every 12 months from the anniversary of the application date, plus or minus 30 days.
  4. The customer shall have the vehicle inspected at either a Gtechniq Store or an authorized Gtechniq Agent. Authorised Gtechniq Agents may at their discretion charge for their service; a visit by a Gtechniq representative will incur a fee.
  5. The customer shall undertake further application of Gtechniq products to the vehicle as are recommended by Gtechniq or by the Authorized Gtechniq Agent during inspection.
  6. Vehicle must be inspected and re-treated when due as per the terms of the warranty.
  7. The Warranty is Non-Transferable, and only applicable to the original purchaser.


GENERAL EXCLUSIONS FOR ALL GTECHNIQ PRODUCTS

  1. Customer neglect. i.e. Failure to maintain due care of the treated surface will result in the warranty becoming nul and void.
  2. Pre-existing damage or deterioration is excluded from this warranty.
  3. Terms and Conditions are not adhered to.
  4. Exposure to abnormal & harsh chemicals.
  5. Failure to repair & retreat damaged sections.
  6. Damages caused by modifications to the vehicle e.g. mirrors, roof racks, etc....
  7. Areas not treated with Gtechniq products.
  8. Any claim in respect of damage caused by unusual atmospheric conditions including not limited to hail, salt spray or harsh chemicals.
  9. Any claims for matters which are covered by a warranty provided by the manufacturer of the vehicle.
  10. Any claim in respect of manufacturers imperfections.

WARRANTY APPLYING TO GTECHNIQ PAINT COATINGS

Warranty

C1 Crystal Lacquer - New & Used Vehicles, applied before 31st December 2021, Three (3) Year Warranty, subject to annual inspections

C1 Crystal Lacquer - New & Used Vehicles, applied after 1st January 2022, Five (5) Year Warranty, subject to annual inspections

Crystal Serum Light - New & Used Vehicles, Five (5) Year Warranty, subject to annual inspections

Gtechniq will safeguard the treated surface under the terms and conditions listed below should the treated factory painted surfaces be damaged by color fading or loss of gloss from the sun’s harmful UV rays, Gtechniq will repair or clean (at its option) any failed section and retreat the damaged area at no cost to the owner providing that the owner maintains the vehicle in the manner described under the Gtechniq Car Care page and adheres to the terms & conditions within this warranty.

Warranty Conditions and Exclusions

  1. In the event of damage to the factory painted surface caused by collision, accident, vandalism or abuse, the vehicle must be taken to an authorized Gtechniq Application Centre for re-treatment after the required repairs are completed, at the owners or insurer’s expense. The owner must present their Warranty Card and the authentication code so it may receive an updated endorsement of the treatment.
  2. This warranty does not cover stone chipping, surface rust, marring, abnormal chemical fallout or spillage, untreated panel repair or replacement; bore water spotting, scratching, abrasions, manufactures imperfections or paint imperfections such as paint flaking, peeling, foreign matter in paint, orange peel or clear coat separation.
  3. To maintain the validity of this Warranty the vehicle must be presented to an authorized Gtechniq Applicator or Dealer within thirty (30) days before or after the first anniversary of treatment application and thereafter on each subsequent anniversary.
  4. This warranty is only valid when the Warranty Number, Activation Number, Customers Details and Vehicle Details have been registered online and only valid if the registration is completed within 30 days of the product application date.

Warranty Claim

In the event of a warranty claim this warranty is limited to the below maximum amounts at SurfaceTech Australia’s option.

  1. SurfaceTech Australia or Gtechniq Agents shall arrange for the successful claim area to be cleaned, repaired, rejuvenated or repainted and retreated with Gtechniq Paint Coating at no charge to the customer; or
  2. Pay the customer the maximum amount of $1,500.00 in full and final settlement of the customers claim under warranty.

OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS APPLYING TO THE WARRANTY OFFERED IN RESPECT OF GTECHNIQ PRODUCTS


  • Any claim under the warranty must be notified via email or writing to Daves Auto Detail within 30 days of the customer first becoming aware of any matter giving rise to a claim in regards to any Gtechniq Products.
  • The warranty is only valid if:
    1. Following notification of a claim the vehicle is made available for Daves Auto Detail inspection at a time mutually convenient to Daves Auto Detail and the Customer, such time during normal business hours (9.00am – 5.00pm EST, Monday to Friday) ; and
    2. The vehicle is subsequently made available to Daves Auto Detail or such other person/s as Daves Auto Detail may stipulate in order that any treatment, cleaning, repair or other work may be undertaken.

  • Approval in writing must be obtained by the customer from Daves Auto Detail before undertaking any work covered by the warranty. All work covered by the warranty must be undertaken by Daves Auto Detail, an Authorized Gtechniq Agent or such person as Daves Auto Detail may nominate. If any treatment, cleaning, repair or other work is carried out on the vehicle without Daves Auto Detail's written authorization first being obtained, the warranty will automatically be invalidated.
  • In the event that the vehicle is involved in an accident which involves damage to an area treated by a Gtechniq product, the warranty only remains valid if the affected areas of the Vehicle are repaired and then retreated by Daves Auto Detail or an authorized Gtechniq agent with the relevant Gtechniq Products at the customers expense; the re-application of the Gtechniq Paint Coating should be performed after vehicle paint has been allowed to settle for at least 7 days.
  • Warranty excludes the following claims:
    1. Any claim in respect of matters pre-existing at the time of the application of the Gtechniq Product.
    2. Any claim in respect of any Gtechniq Product applied other than by SurfaceTech Australia or a Gtechniq Accredited Agent.
    3. Any claim arising from the customer failing to properly maintain the vehicle.
    4. Any claim in respect of acts of vandalism or arising out of an accident involving the vehicle.
    5. Any claim in respect of manufacturers imperfections.
    6. Any claim arising from the vehicle being operated in a manner contrary to the manufacturers recommendations.
    7. Any claim in respect of damage resulting from the use of the vehicle in a competition or motor sporting event, or where the vehicle is used on a beach, or in off-road driving conditions, or for the launching of boats or other marine vessels for other than occasional recreation use.
    8. Any claim in respect of the load area of a commercial vehicle.
    9. Any claim in respect of a vehicle which has been subject to other than normal wear and tear.
    10. Any claim where the vehicle has not been maintained in accordance with the Gtechniq Customer Care Page and Instructions.
    11. Any claim in respect of damage caused by unusual atmospheric conditions including but not limited to hail, salt spray or harsh chemicals.
    12. Any claim in respect of damage caused by acid, dyes, inks, bleachers, paint, and lubricants, caustic or corrosive materials.
    13. Any claim in respect of the tray area of utilities.
    14. Any claim in respect of any area of the vehicle which has not been treated with the appropriate Gtechniq Product, or at the customer’s request.
    15. Any claim arising from the installation of aftermarket parts and/or accessories including without limitation mirrors, luggage racks and mudflats.
    16. Any claim in respect of surface rust, rust damage caused by moister trapped under trims and rubber mouldings or decorations.
    17. Any claim in respect of rust appearing above the window line of the vehicle.
    18. Any claim in respect of damage to the paintwork caused by stone chips, rust or corrosion (where the area of the vehicle has not been treated with Gtechniq Products), abnormal chemical fall out or spillage, petrol spillage, scratching, abrasion, fire, panel repair or replacement.
    19. Any claim in respect of deterioration to the paint work caused by the use of cleaning agents other than those commercially available for cleaning paintwork of private passenger vehicles.
    20. Any claim in respect of paint chipping, grazing, peeling or paint separation.
    21. Any claim in respect of damage caused by acid, dye, oil based paints, bleach or other corrosive substances.
    22. Any claim in respect of damage caused by cigarette or cigar burns.
    23. Any claim for matters which are covered by a warranty provided by the manufacturer of the vehicle.
    24. Any claim in respect of surface rust resulting from chips, scratches or other damage to the paintwork of the vehicle.

  • The warranty shall immediately become null and void if any of the following occur;
    1. If any panel or parts of the vehicle that would normally be treated under AS266/2 have been modified from the manufacturer’s specification.
    2. If the vehicle has been subject to inundation / flood.
    3. If the customer has been advised to have the vehicle retreated with Gtechniq Products or undertakes other work at an inspection and the customer has failed to do so.

  • The granting of the warranty is conditional upon payment in full by the customer for the application of the relevant Gtechniq Product.
  • The above warranty does not exclude any conditions or warranties which are made mandatory by legislation, however other than as imposed by law, the terms and conditions of the warranty are wholly contained within this webpage / document and all other warranties to the extent permissible by law are expressly excluded.
  • To the extent to which it is permissible, the liability of Daves Auto Detail and Gtechniq Agents to the customer other than pursuant to the warranty contained within this webpage / document is limited to the re-application of the appropriate Gtechniq Products.
  • If any of the provisions of the warranty are contrary to, prohibited by, or held invalid under any application law, that provision shall be considered inapplicable and omitted, but shall not invalidate the remaining provisions.
  • Electronic device warranty is that which is issued by the individual devices manufactures. No other warranty is expressed or implied.
